A South Florida woman who said she was able to outsmart the man who attempted to rob her at gunpoint at an ATM in Plantation credited her escape to some quick thinking and a case of bad nerves from the suspect.
Twenty-three-year-old Cindy Fabian said she was trying to get some cash at the Bank of America, near West Sunrise Boulevard and North University Drive, at around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 24. That's when cameras captured the armed suspect suddenly approaching her car and demanding her to give him money from her account.
"And I screamed, so he showed me the gun, and he told me, 'Listen, I'm not trying to kill you. I just need money,'" said Fabian.
