'Filter bandit' strikes again at Coral Springs bank, FBI says

Culprit believed to be involved in at least 6 other robberies

The FBI is searching for a bank robber believed to have targeted banks throughout Broward County since August 2014.

Agents said his latest holdup was Thursday morning at a SunTrust Bank branch at 1890 N. University Drive in Coral Springs, which he is also believed to have robbed in March.

According to detectives, the robber, who was dressed all in black and had his face covered by sunglasses and a hooded sweater, entered the bank about 9:10 a.m., pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from an employee.

Agents said no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

Authorities believe that the robber, known as the"filter bandit," has targeted at least six other banks since last year.

Anyone with information about the identity of the robber is asked to call the FBI at 305-944-9101. A reward of $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
