Three people are accused of staging a crash in Fort Lauderdale to collect $80,000 from an insurance company, according to arrest records.

Claudio Boyett, 44, Leslie Martinez, 45, and Claudia Hoy, 31, all of Fort Lauderdale, are facing grand theft and insurance fraud charges. Boyett was arrested Wednesday; Martinez and Hoy were arrested last week, Broward jail records show.

On Aug. 7, 2012, a U-Haul truck struck a Dodge Caravan in the parking lot of the Pare De Sufrir church, 4080 SW 18th St., according to a report from Florida's Division of Insurance Fraud.

Former Firefighter Accused Of Burning Own Vehicle In Insurance Fraud Case

State insurance investigators have charged a former volunteer firefighter in Onslow County after they say he set his own vehicle on fire and tried to collect insurance.

Michael Rumfalo of Kenansville has been charged with one count of burning personal property, insurance fraud, attempting to obtain property by false pretense, and filing a false police report.

He is a former volunteer firefighter for the Hubert Fire Department, according to Onslow County officials.

Cop charged with purposely spreading HIV for nearly 7 years, brags about sex with victims

PALM BEACH — Women in multiple cities and counties have been issued a warning to come forward immediately for testing, after a police officer, Ervans Saintclair, has been charged with intentionally spreading HIV to multiple victims as far back as 2007.

The secret began to surface in January, 2014 when Officer Saintclair was caught lying to a woman whom he dated for almost a year,according to the OCALA Post.

After having unprotected sex with her multiple times, Saintclair claimed that he had “just learned” that he had HIV.

The truth, however, came out when another woman who was in Saintclair’s home found paperwork showing his HIV positive lab results were confirmed years ago, according to reports.

E-Cigarette business targeted twice in a year

DANIA BEACH, Fla. -- Police are releasing surveillance video of a break-in at a Dania Beach warehouse after the business was targeted for the second time in a year. 

The latest break-in at E-Cigarette Wholesale, located at 2050 Tigertail Blvd., in Dania Beach resulted in a major loss for the company. "It's between, I can assume, between $300,000 to a half million," said owner Talor Zafrir. "This time, it's big." 

The crime was captured on surveillance where the thieves could be seen inside the business handing off boxes to one another. 

"They cut the walls, they crawled on the floor, and they just took whatever they could," said Zafrir. Detectives believe the thieves used a truck to crash through the walls of the business.
