HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Surveillance video caught two armed men barging into a South Florida store to rob cashiers at gunpoint.
The two men struck the Family Dollar, located on Sixth Avenue and West Hallandale Beach Boulevard, on May 11, while customers were inside.
Surveillance cameras caught the men storming into the business with guns in hand. As they held weapons to the employees' heads, one of them started to grab cash from the register.
One of the men is then seen running off, but the second man stays to grab more money by lifting the cash drawer and taking everything else.
The second man then turned around and pistol whipped the cashier before taking off. The suspects escaped with nearly $300.
Hallandale Beach Police Major Thomas Honan said getting the men off the streets is a high priority. They're armed, dangerous and capable of creating plenty of fear.
"They go in the store, they meant business while they were in there, and we're asking for the public for any assistance if they're able to recognize these people," said Honan.
A woman and a child were at the register during the robbery but were unharmed.
Police believe the men escaped in a green or brown compact sport utility vehicle that was being driven by a woman.
